BED AND BREAKFAST SEMINARS

We present in-depth seminars on how to open and operate a successful Bed and Breakfast. Over the past ten years we have graduated several hundred students, many of whom are operating successful B&Bs in BC and Alberta. Other students have found that B&B is not for them but this is the right time to find this out, not after spending thousands in setting up a B&B.

We currently hold these group seminars twice a year in Courtenay on Vancouver Island in the spring and the fall from 9:00 AM to 3:30 each day. We hold them at a B&B so you get to see a good B&B in operation and how it is equipped. If you like you can make arrangements with the B&B to stay there for the seminar.

The seminar outline is on page 2. We  encourage questions, discussions and networking with other future B&B operators. You will be fully detailed on all aspects of operating a B&B and it will get you started on the right track.

The ideal time to take a seminar is in your early planning stage so costly errors are not made in house alterations, purchases of the wrong type of linens, bed choices and poor marketing. Our students have found our seminars very helpful in this regard.

The cost of these group seminars is $200 per person or $300 for resident couples. Lunch, coffee and snacks are provided each day and both a detailed seminar manual and a copy of our book are also included which will be useful for future reference. If you set up a B&B, this is a tax deductible business expense.

Our next seminar will be held in Courtenay on October 25 th & 26 th, 2008. Email or phone for a registration form.

PRIVATE SEMINARS

We also host private workshop/seminars over two days at our home in Lillooet at a cost of $500 per couple. This includes one night's accommodation, lunches, coffee and snacks, a copy of our book and a complete seminar manual. You will also have practical hands on experience with breakfast preparation, proper table setting and bed making. This is an opportunity for one-on-one learning about this business. You will have time to discuss every aspect of B&B.

"We are very pleased we included your seminar in our B&B education plan, your book was great but speaking to both of you individually was probably the best resource we could have encountered". Sandra and Doug MacDonald, www.victoriahouseperth.com

ONLINE BED AND BREAKFAST SEMINARS

As an extension of our seminar program we have developed an Online Bed and Breakfast Seminar. Participants will be guided through an in-depth interactive seminar. Using a text book, a printed course manual and online course pages and activities, they will work from their own computer in their own time. As a part of the seminar, there is a discussion board for interaction on topics with other students and the instructors. The course is eight weeks and will require a time commitment of approximately 5 to 10 hours per week.

This professionally designed seminar will be offered February 4th, 2009. The cost is $600.00 per student.

For full information on the seminar go to our website, www.bbseminarsonline.com.

Some comments from our students:

"We got a wealth of information that we didn't know about in all areas of owning and operating a B&B. Thanks again for hosting this wonderful online seminar." Rolf and Edel Wiepning, Castlegar, B.C.

"Mary and Bruce are great coaches. They are open to new ideas, are encouraging but also firmly grounded in reality. They truly know the business and want you to be prepared for the real thing. It's priceless to learn from experts in the area who have been there and done it all." Kristen Gunn, Portland, Oregon.
